Remove manual handoffs
No more re-keying between systems that were never connected.
Overview
Every time data is copied from one system into another by hand, the process gains a delay, a chance of error and a person whose job is to be the interface. Most of these handoffs exist because two systems were bought at different times and never connected.
We close them in order of preference: an API where one exists, a file or database integration where it does not, and a robot working the user interface only where nothing else is available. Each handoff we remove has an owner and an error path, so a failure is visible rather than silently skipped.
